Knowlege is the power!

The paper knowledge has arrived!
Fresh from the post office, but they were a bit stale in the book shop. Of course I bought used books, because we're tight on our budget and even a single cent can sometimes mean a matter of life and death! That's why our beloved sponsors (yes, you! :) will help us, like an umbrella-a-a-a-o-o-o or a parachute when we fall :D
Of course, our sponsors have yet to be found and until then we're currently lost like gorillas in the mist.

Anyways, until then knowledge of our destinations will be our power! After reading these awesome guides, we should get a better insight in what Iran and Armenia have to offer. Will it be cultural treasures of Persepolis that will occupy our attention? Or Armenian apricots? We'll let you know as soon as we find some weird detail which these books surely have (at least that's what the reviews said). I'll be the judge of that! MuahahaHHAha.....

A Rough Route

The first post should always be an explanation for the existence of a blog.

Wanting more challenge and adventure in motorcycle trips, 2 guys from Croatia decided to go to a country that's a subject of many prejudices and great beauty - Iran. And to every country in between, of course :)
The beggining is scheduled on beginning of June 2011.

Who'll be going on this trip and write the blog?

Josip,
electrical engineer living in Zagreb, Croatia
hard rocker & tire burner, spiritus movens of every party

will attract sponsors, because of his attractive physique and even more attractive bike

rides:
'07 BMW R 1200 S, silver

Igor (me)
mechanical engineer from Zagreb, Croatia
planner, writer and complicator, self proclaimed expert in nothing - goo.gl/tuLYD
will make tour plan, photos, most of blogging & ride report

rides:
'08 Suzuki DL 650 A V-Strom, blue

And where are we planning to go? As a picture speaks better than my rusty English, I'll just post targeted trajectory of MotoPersia 2011 mototrip.

zoomed out!

wooo, that'll be over 12.000kms! In the middle of summer, in the Middle East. In the middle of nowhere :)

zoomed in!

Josip & me will publish here every step & move regarding this extraordinary expedition. From bike tune ups, buying necessary gear & clothing, drinking good beer & getting wasted to random thoughts regarding the trip, people we could meet, life and the existence of potato pie.

More details coming shortly... stay fresh!
